I Do Not Know

I do not know your name, but I bet it is a wonderful one.

Mine’s Grace, and it’s nice to write to you.

I do not know if you are kind to others, but I hope that you are. I do not know if you take your life for granted, but I seriously pray that you savor each day.I do not know what you have been through, but I want you to see your trials as a test of resilience. I am not sure if you are currently trudging through a valley or if you are dancing on the top of the world. Either way, I hope you are strong at the bottom and humble at the top. I do not know your story, but I do not have to. In fact, I already know a lot about you.

I know that you are a beautiful person, inside and out. You are loved more than you know. I know that someone thinks you are the prettiest or the most handsome, even when you think otherwise. I am 100% sure that you have a life, and that alone is a miracle. If you are reading this, then I know you have eyes that see and a mind that thinks. I hope you use both to see and understand the best about people. I am positive that your heart is beating and your lungs are breathing; never forget that those two things are privileges denied to many. I know that somewhere in your life, you have influence. I pray that you use it for good. I know that you were created by God and He loves you. It is as simple as that.

I do not know where you have been or where you are going, but I want to remind you of something. It is never too late to change the path that you are on. The narrow gate is always open for you, although the wide and broad road will always yell louder. It looks enticing from where you are right now, but its road only gets darker the further you travel. In contrast, head down the narrow road and you will find that it is paved with gold. Every day, you have to make the choice between the road that leads to life or the road that leads to destruction. I do not know which road you are choosing; I know only that the choice is yours.

I do not know if today was your best or worst day so far. I do not know your hopes, dreams, or plans. All I know is that you are a unique, remarkable human being with a story unfolding. I hope that you are writing a good one.

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
