What makes you happy?

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37–40

Andy Stanley, Pastor of North Point Community Church, had an awesome message this morning that I had to share. It came from Part 1 (“Nothing”) of his new series, “What Makes You Happy.” I encourage you all to watch it, no matter if you are a Christian or not. It speaks loudly about how happiness doesn’t come from anyTHING but through your relationships with people. Stanley makes a great point on how simple it is to be a Jesus follower. Love God, love your neighbor, love yourself. One of my favorite things that he said during the message was, “As a kid, I had this idea that God and Jesus got in the way of my happiness. I felt like they got together to come up with rules to whisper in my dad and mom’s ears and block my way from having fun. Now, I realize that God is the One that actually opens the door to happiness.”
It’s thirty minutes of awesome truth. Click the link, listen, and learn. I think it’ll make you happy. 🙂
